Meet Suzanne Sichting-Mohan
The Early Years
Suzanne Sichting-Mohan began her musical journey as a young child. She had a gift and a discipline which led her to win many awards, from advancing to State Solo and Ensemble competitions to "Best Drum Major Award".
Suzanne attended Kentucky Christian University majoring in Music Education K-12 with a concentration in Piano Performance and a double minor in Woodwinds and Choral Conducting. Suzanne studied voice and conducting with maestro Dr. Mark Deakins, Department Chair and Conductor of chorale, ensembles and touring groups. She studied piano with Dr. Wesley Golightly, Dean of Music. A piano scholarship recipient, she regularly toured with a southern gospel music and drama group, Voices In Praise (VIP,) throughout the United States and studied abroad in the UK. Suzanne has been a guest pianist with the West Virginia Symphony, a studio musician in Nashville, TN and performed at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Achievements
Throughout her career, Suzanne has held Director of Music positions and directed church and community adult/youth choirs, orchestras, handbells, dance and puppet groups. Suzanne operated and managed a private academy Fine Arts Center leading summer music camps and produced musicals and shows like Annie Jr., Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Feast of Christmas Madrigals, and A Christmas Carol.
She has performed on stage in a variety of works like Arthur Miller's The Crucible and as "Mary" in the passion play. One of her most fun career endeavors was to produce Neil Simon's comedy"Rumors' at the Indianapolis Civic Theater. She has been a Music and Enrichments Teacher at a gifted and talented school. In the summer of 2016, she performed in a two-week tour of Schubert's Mass in G in Vienna, Austria as part of the Vienna Mayor, Michael Haupl’s, “Great American Choral Series" under the direction of maestro Peter Tiboris.
Presently
Suzanne currently uses her musical talents for a variety of venues and takes any opportunity she can to advocate for the arts. Since moving to Woodcliff Lake, she has focused on building her vision and launched "MMS". She is living her dream of teaching amazingly talented clients supporting their hopes and goals of being rock star performers!
In the spring of 2019, she had the privilege of representing the arts and talking about her musical journey and business at the Northern Highlands Career Day. She was appointed to Co-chair the Council for the Arts by the Woodcliff Lake Mayor. Suzanne has experienced amazing growth at the music school adding additional staff in the fall of 2019.
Over her summers, Suzanne can be found enjoying leading the theater/music area at Next Level Camps onsite Saddle River Day School teaching drama, music, and running their weekly talent shows. Recently, she was accepted into the NYU Tisch Performing Arts program. When not getting her music on, Suzanne can be heard cheering her two amazing girls on in sports, loves gardening , her book club and working on house projects with her husband.
Meet David Alpaca
David Alpaca, "Mr. David" has an Associates of Arts degree in Music Technology. He also majored in Music Education K-12 with a concentration in Strings and a minor in Voice at William Paterson University where he regularly performed in university ensembles under the direction of Dr. Sandra Dackow. He studied violin privately with Dr. Kathleen Butler-Hopkins, an American violinist. He also studied in New York City with maestro Jean Pierre Schmitt. He spent time studying with Ann Roggen the Professor of Chamber Music at WPU and did his vocal training with Dr. Christopher D. Herbert, DMA Voice of Julliard School of New York professor.
Mr. David has enjoyed a career in performing extensively throughout Long Island, New York and New Jersey. Mr. David performs different styles of music including classical, latin and pop. He has taught in Lima, Peru, at a prestigious private academy in Westchester, NY and as an instructor with Mrs. Mohan at a local private gifted and talented school. Mr. David has taken his passion for teaching music and has been an instructor for several other music schools as well as serving clients in New York City.
Mr. David currently teaches music at a middle school charter school where he teaches general and instrumental music. When not completely engrossed in music equipment, music playing or talking about music, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and being an amazing father to his four children. He loves talking all things related to Peruvian food and about his home country of Peru...and obviously deeply enjoys educating and performing his home country's genre of music!
